Hello--to people following my blog. Look! I am actually blogging and being okay at it. I mean, it had been months since my last entry.

Today has been thought-provoking. It is difficult to know where to start. I suppose the beginning is as good as any.

Well, I woke up with 10 minutes to get to my first class! I had a horrible headache the night before and was still trying to feel better. I rushed to class (with encouragement from my sweet roommate, Brittany). I went through classes like I always do; however, today was special. An Apostle was on-campus to speak to BYU-Idaho. I had been fortunate to get a ticket-which the computer selected at random.

Elder D. Todd Christofferson spoke on Remembering the Savior. BYU-Idaho had let classes out early so we would be in our seats early. During that time, I got out my scriptures and my journal. I read scriptures until he arrived. There was a special Spirit in the room and I know part of that was because of my preparation. Preparation before a meeting makes a huge difference in whether or not you can feel the Spirit.

His talk  was wonderful and afterwards I got to meet him. Hundreds of students stayed to shake his hand. The picture above shows Elder and Sister Christofferson in the background. If you look behind me you can see President and Sister Clark. My friend Carlie Day took this picture (thanks, Carlie)! It was wonderful to meet an Apostle of the Lord and his beautiful wife. I also got to talk to President and Sister Clark. We have met many times and they recognized me.

I left the stage and was about to leave when I heard a guy talking to me. He happened to be sitting near where I was walking. He asked me what it was like to meet Elder  Christofferson. I told him it was wonderful. I had never met him or even seen him before. He told me I looked so happy on the stage meeting them and that I still looked extremely happy. I told him I was. We talked for a while and he asked my name. I learned his name was Jared and his major is: undecided. He asked where I was heading and I told him I was going to work. He asked where I worked and then we talked about my job. He had seen me announce the show and told me I did a good job. He was excited to meet me! It was an interesting encounter, but a pleasant one. Anyway, we talked for a while and then Jared decided to get in line to meet the Christoffersons.

I went to work very happy and thankful to the Lord. All around I can see where the Lord has blessed me. I have so much to be grateful for. There is more to the day; however, I have homework! I will say that I have thought of the influence of one person today. One person can make all the difference. My boss told me a true story of someone he knew in high school. She was abused for many years and then murdered. I will not share the details of such a horrific event. In that case, one person caused so much pain and sorrow. In contrast, Elder Christofferson uplifted and inspired many today.

One person truly makes a difference.
